Job Summary:
As a CDL Trash Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating a commercial vehicle to collect waste and recycling materials from residential and commercial customers. You will ensure timely and safe collection while maintaining high standards of service and compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a commercial trash truck to collect waste and recycling materials on designated routes.
- Ensure safe and efficient driving practices in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding collection schedules and any service issues.
- Load and unload waste and recycling materials as needed, ensuring proper disposal and recycling practices.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and collection reports.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself, your crew, and the public.
- Assist in training new drivers and team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience driving a garbage truck or similar commercial vehicle is preferred.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the job, including lifting heavy items and working in various weather conditions.
